For example :<br /><br /><a href="http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2009/6/28/nation/4214327&amp;sec=nation">Government to introduce new category of scholarships</a><br /><br />Some of us may have realised the impact of the words 'new category' on the message put across. Anyone with a modicum of common sense would immediately get the idea that this 'new category' is a subset of all the scholarships awarded to students. Hence, it implies that only a small proportion of scholarships are given purely on merit while others are affected other factors, including race (cited from the article).<br /><br />So, don't be fooled by such news and the claim that this would 'level the playing field' is utter nonsense.<br /><br />However, a subset is still a subset.
